What to give up for Lent

So I've been thing about what to give up for lent & I think I finally have that right thing for me to give up...Pinterest. I know, what am I thinking? How can I possibly do this? Well since we've moved, our house has remained a mess. Who am I kidding, our house & apartment in Texas was never clean for the entire 5 years we lived in Texas. We always had the best of intentions, but never seemed to follow through. Well, now we gave a baby. She's almost 7 months now & working on crawling. With everything scatered on the floor & on tables, we really don't need her making more of a mess, getting into things she shouldn't be or getting hurt. Now it's really time to get serious about keeping the house clean & organized. First I'm going to try & tackle the cleaning & maintaining. Like I siad, I've always had good intentions & in my opinion, good ideas. Now it's ime to follow through. I'll try & tackle each room to start out with. Some may only take a day, some may take a week, ya never know with a scatter brain person like me & the help of a baby. So here's the plan: make a list of important rooms, tackel each room in order of importance, make a weekly cleaning check list to maintain the clean & lastly, try to stick to the schedule. I'll even try to keep up with the blog & post pictures of progress. Here goes nothin'.

New Church Building

So it really has been a while since I blogged and so much has happened. The biggest thing is that our church has relocated.

We are now in a fabulous building. It was a bitter sweet move for a lot of members. We desperately needed more space and to be accessible to all the members. So many of them were not able to attend church because of all the stairs but now with everything being on the same level and being up to ADA standards, everyone can enjoy the new facility. Move-in day was jam packed with stuff to do, the main thing being getting our sign up. It was quite a feet to get the cross and flame up, but very well worth it.

Some day we will have a lawn as nice as this but right now it just dirt, if you can imagine that.

Since we've been in the new building, we have started up our CDO (Children's Day Out) program and I have been substitute teaching. It's been a blast but also exhausting. It's one Tuesdays and Thursdays but this last week I took care of 4 children all under the age of 2. Tuesday I helped and Thursday I was supposed to do it by myself, but that didn't really happen. I tried, but it was jsut to much. One of the other teachers came to help and we decided a couple of things. 1) Octomom is truly crazy and 2) there really needs to be 2 teachers in that room, especially when 3 of the children can't seem to get calmed down.

I've also been teaching a digital photography class at a near by community college. It's been fun and I truly hope everyone is getting what they want/need out of the class. It's continuing education, so it's mainly people that just want to leard and aren't being forced to take a class for credit, like my college days were. I tought Wednesday and Thursday of last week and will do the same this week, then it's over. It's good experince, and I'm enjoying, I just wish it was more steady and more than just 9 hours. I also had a wedding a couple of weeks ago and another one last night. Look for those pictures soon. I have onther wedding next weekend and another the weekend after that. So, I'm staying really busy and taking the jobs I can get. Hopefully more work will soon come my way, hopefully something more steady and reliable.
